Medical effect: Levothyroxine Na tablets are effective for the treatment of following diseases and conditions:

• hypothyroidism (primary or hypophyseal),
• myxedema,
• cretinism,
• goiter.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use in patients with myocardial infarction, cardiovascular or vascular disorders, adrenocortical insufficiency or pituitary gland disorder. Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. If an allergic reaction occurs, stop using the medication and consult with your doctor. Dosage and administration of Japanese Levothyroxine Na tablets 50 mcg for thyroid hormone therapy  

Start with taking 25 to 100 mcg of active ingredient 1 time a day as an initial dose. Then gradually increase the dosage up to 100-400 mcg 1 time a day. The dosage may be adjusted by the consulting doctor due to age and symptoms. Please note that 1 tablet contains 50 mcg of active ingredient.

Levothyroxine Na tablets contains levothyroxine sodium hydrate. It is a sodium salt of levothyroxine, the synthetic isomer of thyroxine which is similar to the endogenous hormone produced by the thyroid gland. Levothyroxine Na tablets are effective for the treatment of hypothyroidism and its consequences, such as myxedema or myxedema coma. They work by binding to thyroid receptor proteins in the cell nucleus, controlling DNA transcription and protein synthesis and subsequently causing metabolic effects.
