Dosage and administration of Oseltamivir capsules 75 mg from Japan for influenza type A and B (Tamiflu)
For adults and children weighing 37.5 kg or more, take 1 capsule (75 mg of oseltamivir) at a time, 2 times a day for 5 days.
How effective are Japanese Oseltamivir capsules 75 mg for influenza type A and B (Tamiflu)?
Oseltamivir is a competitive inhibitor of neuraminidase enzyme. This enzyme helps new virions to exit the infected cell. By this, Oseltamivir capsules prevent new viral particles from being released and suppress the proliferation of the virus.
Who should take Oseltamivir capsules 75 mg from Japan?
Oseltamivir is effective for the treatment of human influenza type A and B. Japanese studies showed that type B influenza virus rarely mutates to the strains resistant to oseltamivir (S. Hatakeyama, N. Sugaya et al. "Emergence of influenza B viruses with reduced sensitivity to neuraminidase inhibitors". The Journal of the American Medical Association. 2007, April, 297 (13): 1435–42). However, this medicine might not be as effective for some animal influenza viruses (H1N1 "Swine flu", H5N1 "Bird flu" etc.) due to higher resistance of these strains.
